Prospect Place is a gorgeous Greek revival/Italinate style
29 room mansion built in 1856 by George Willison Adams. It is on the National Registry of Historic Places and is currently being restored.
It was an important stop on the Underground Railroad.
Tours (ghost & historic) are available. Also rentals for parties or just an overnight stay in one of it's beautifully restored bedrooms.
Date: Friday August 13, 2004
Location: Prospect Place, Trinway, OH.
Conditions: cool, clear but ground fog throughout the night, unsettled with a full moon.
Investigators: 10
Baselines: varied throughout the mansion and 3 story brick barn, gen. 1-3.5, temp. 60 degrees.
Equipment: 35mm & digital cameras, Gauss & ELF meters, digital recorder and digital video, digital thermometry.

This investigation had a lot of subjective evidence, so it was a little different than others. We spent the whole night there and it's a huge complex to investigate.
1) the barn- a very active place that night. The staff told us about a very unhappy highwayman who was hung from the third story beam in the late 1800's. This was a common occurance and the mark from numerous ropes are still visible in the wood.
Two investigators reported a sensation of liquid dripping on their forearms in this area on two separate occasions. Another person told me a bat flew right in front my face, but there was none to be found and I didn't see or feel anything at all. Another person reported a tap on the shoulder and even asked a couple other investigators if they had done it.
Around 3am a group of us were sitting on the third floor and heard twice a low bizarre "growling" sound. It was definitely threatening. This has been reported many times there. I believe they now have a sign posted to warn people of activity on that floor!
I was re-entering the barn ground floor around 4am but stopped at the large doorway because of the vibes. I heard a sound of a large chain being drug and felt a very stern order of get-out-of-here. And I did. This was the only time I've ever felt actual fright at an investigation. I did some fast walking back to the house with the feeling of someone being right behind me the whole way.
2) the mansion- a lot of cold spots, but there is no heat on the second floor. A video caught what looked like the a red letter E flash on the wall in the ballroom. We also watched a ball roll slowly across the floor for several moments after asking the children if they wanted to play.
We were told about 3 children and their nanny who appear in the ballroom.

This is the balcony. the room on the right was the sickroom where the ill went to recover. Tuberculosis was a common illness at that time.

This was one of the basement rooms. Some possible orb activity and a strange black background shadow. One of the mansions residents is "Shadowman." He shows himself a great deal and seems very benevolent. Hi Heather:)

Impression: active day & night and other than the gentleman in the barn, friendly. Definitely a place you could investigate on a continual basis.

Conditions: warm and sunny, sl. unsettled, 76 degrees and clear

Baselines: varied from 0.6- 2.4 throughout the mansion, temps were 72 to 81 degrees.
Equipment: various digital cameras and 35mm, Olympus and Sony voice recorders, IR thermometers, ELF & Cell sensor EMF meters, Digital videocam and Sony HI 8 Nightshot
Data: We had several EVPs and positive pics. EMFs were scarce however. Which leads me to this story from our blog. This occurred at about 1am as we were all sitting outside at tables.
"We were talking about how scant the EMF's had been cause it seemed like we had pics and EVP's. I was holding the Cell Sensor and it started flashing. It went to 9 and that continued for about a minute. While that was happening, we heard the sound of something hitting the concrete, fairly loud and tinny. When we looked we found a dime! If it came from the top of a three story house it would sound like that."
We observed two other minor spikes that night of 4 and 4.2, both in the ballroom.
I had these personal experiences which I cannot explain.
" I had little hand held radios which were fine until 12:30 when both of them went dead at the same time. I went up to our room on the second floor to get batteries. I was the only one in the mansion except for George, the proprietor. He was asleep in his downstairs bedroom.Outside our room was a board that creaks and there is no way to step around it. It's going to be noisy, period,.cause it's right outside the door. So I'm sitting on the bed against the far wall and the door is half open. The room we slept in used to be the chapel, btw. I'm sitting there fiddling with the radio and I hear CREAKKKK. H mm. I didn't hear anyone coming down that long hallway and you would because it's hardwood with at least 14 ft. ceilings and a big echo."
"Around 2 am three of us were sitting in the ballroom watching orbs flying around on the nightcam (not discussing the orb thing) and trying to get a response from someone. My little radio was on the floor by my feet and all of a sudden it let out with the loudest static noise ever. We just looked at each other for a few seconds. I said I was going down to the second floor to see if it was Emily cause I had left the other one by her bed if she would wake up and want something. But I knew it wasn't her because radios don't sound like that when you key them. But just to be sure. When I went into the room, she was sound asleep and I could hear the static again TWICE from the next floor as I was standing in the room. That's how loud it was. No explanation for that one either.
Other members reported being touched, and at least one incidence of a sweet smell on the main stairwell. A few of us felt some rather strong discomfort in the barn.
This is one of our new members (and my nephew) Evan with an interesting anomaly in the ballroom. The flash went off and we didn't see any other light source in front of the lens, so we think it's legitimate. We had several energy streaks that night.
This anomaly occurred as Marcia was dowsing.
This energy was over Mike's head.
Pink and white energy rods in the ballroom. The pink is probably a false positive from the IR Sony.

This was snapped in the widows' walk, it's on here because of the various small colored anomalies. We do have EVP from this area.
