The Pennyroyal Opera House is located in Fairview, Ohio.
Fairview is an old National Road town, actually an Ohio frontier town. All these places derived their income on what ever services they offered, such as inns, stables, taverns for example. They gained their reputations for their uniqueness.
The Opera House was named for the pennyroyal herb, which was used to treat common ailments well into the 1900's.
Fairview was nationally known for it's pennyroyal distilleries and received a steady paycheck from it's sales.
Although Fairview's last distillery closed long ago, the annual Pennyroyal Reunion occurs every summer.
The Pennyroyal Opera House is also known as "the place where bluegrass happens" every weekend.
Date: 10/29/2004
Location: Pennyroyal Opera House, 2 stories
Conditions: unsettled; cloudy, cool
Investigators:3
Baselines: temp 47, EMF 0.5-1
Equipment:35 & digital cameras, cassette audio, compass, Gauss & ELF meters, infrared thermometry and motion detector.
Data:
1) Motion detector activated in dining room basement level. Investigator was in the kitchen area at the time, but the doors were shut.
2) EMF reading 5-6.5 in upstairs backstage area, but appeared unrelated to electrical circuits.
3) EMF red-zoned on the seats (church-style benches) and stayed there for 1 and 1/4 hour on the ELF meter. A picture taken showed a possible
flash in the window, but with a face.

This section has been enlarged, sorry about the pixilation.
4) on audio we had unexplained noises in the lower level, faint music and voices, and the tape which had been left to run in our absence picked a very
interesting bite. It sounded like an open-handed slap on the table, right next to the recorder. Like "Hello, I'm here."
Impression: an active place, very friendly. Full of place memories and happy times and at least one loud spirit!
