Signs
The universe can often relay messages to us through signs. Often, we
are too busy to stop and consider what may or may not be a sign. We may
ask the universe for guidance, yet fail to recognize the sign it sends
us in response. Learning the subtle language of signs can help you
interpret the guidance the universe sends your way. We all have been
blessed with a connection that allows the universe to communicate
directly with us. To be able to understand the information relayed over
that connection, however, it is necessary that we learn to pay
attention and know what to look for.
To see and correctly interpret a sign, you must open your heart and
mind to the universe and invite its guidance into your life. Many of us
are blind to the signs we receive because we expect angels or our
spirit guides to speak to us in a booming voice and tell us exactly
what we need to hear. But signs are usually of this earth and therefore
easier to encounter. A song lodged in your mind or a number that seems
to pop up everywhere you look after you’ve asked the universe for
guidance can both be signs. Signs may come through the animal world,
from strangers, or jump out of a book in the form of an insightful
passage. A sign may be a direct answer to one of your questions. Other
signs may point you in the right direction, warn of impending
difficulties, or show you a different way. If you want the universe to
send you a sign, tell it that you are ready and willing to accept its
guidance.
Not everything you hear or see will be a sign. If you are receptive
and patient, however, the signs you receive will become easier to
recognize. It is important to listen to your intuition. A sign can mean
many things to different people, and only you can decipher a sign’s
meaning is for you. As you practice reading the signs and following
their guidance, the universe will send more of them your way.

Deepak Chopra: What I've Learned About Love
We caught up with
famous author Deepak Chopra for his thoughts on romance, relationships
and those intoxicating feelings of falling in love!
Deepak Chopra, the famous author of many works including his latest,
Jesus: A Story of Enlightenment, shared his unique insights on one of
life's most important subjects -- love. Read on for his
thought-provoking quotes on romance, relationships and true love.
Love is not just a sentiment. Love is the ultimate truth at the heart of creation.
Any relationship that's based on need is doomed for failure. And any relationship that is based on playfulness leads to ecstasy.
When
you have the intoxication of love, your body makes dopamine, opiates,
serotonin, and oxytocin. These hormones are not only antidepressants,
and induce a subjective sense of euphoria, but they're also
immunomodulators. They modify, modulate, and fortify your immune
system, so you're a much healthier person. When people are experiencing
either the giving or receiving of love, their body starts to
self-regulate and restore homeostasis, which means that all your body
systems are performing at a peak level.
Our meaning and context in life come from relationships. In the absence of relationships, we don't even exist.
A
bad relationship is one in which there is controlled manipulation,
where people need constant approval and reinforcement that they are
liked or loved -- in other words, where there is a lot of insecurity.
It
would be a big loss to not have a romantic bond, because the romantic
bond sparks a different kind of energy in us. It's an important aspect
of love. Love has many flavors, but one of them is romance, which of
course includes sexuality.
When
you've found someone, identify the qualities in them that you find
attractive, and then display those same qualities yourself. In other
words, don't borrow their energy, but become their energy.
It's
my understanding that our spirit or consciousness outlives the death of
the physical body. So if our consciousness lives on, then so does love.
People who have no relationships are three to five times as likely to die from cardiovascular illness or cancer.
[Couples]
have to reassure each other that they're always there for each other.
And they have to make each other feel safe. And that comes by having a
common goal and a common commitment to each other. And when people have
that, love makes them feel safe, and love actually begins to heal their
physical bodies and their emotions.
When
you fall in love with somebody, simply write down the traits that you
really admire in them and then say to yourself, 'I will also display
those traits.' And when you do that, you're no longer borrowing their
energy, you're becoming that energy. And then instead of need, there's
time to play and enjoy.
You
can trace all violence to the lack of or having poor relationships,
either in childhood or in romantic relationships. I think all the
people in the world who commit violent crimes or who are engaged in
terrorism at some point experienced a deep lack of love.
When you have the experience of love, either giving it or receiving it, you become magnanimous to the rest of the world.
That's why people in love can do extraordinary things!
Deepak Chopra's long-awaited new book, Jesus: A Story of Enlightenment, is in stores November 4.

Human Angels
During each of our journeys, there are those inevitable moments when
someone comes into our life at precisely the right time and says or
does precisely the right thing. Their words or actions may help us
perceive ourselves more clearly, remind us that everything will turn
out for the best, help us cope, or see us through difficult situations.
These people are human angels ? individuals designated by the universe
to be of service to those in need at specific points in time. Some
human angels make a commitment before their births to make a positive
contribution to the world at a particular moment. Others were chosen by
the universe. All human angels, however, come into our lives when we
least expect them and when we can most benefit from their presence.
A few of the human angels we may encounter are in professions where
helping others is an everyday occurrence. But most of them are regular
people, going about their daily lives until called upon to be in the
right place at the right time to bring peace, joy, help, or heal
someone when they most need it. You may have met a human angel in the
form of a teacher who gave you a piece of advice that touched your soul
and influenced your path. The person that momentarily stopped you to
say hello on the street, delaying you long enough to avoid an oncoming
car or a collision, is also a human angel. They may offer nothing more
than a kind word or a smile, but they will offer it when you can draw
the most strength and support from their simple action.
You may be a human angel yet not know it. Your fate or intuition may
guide you toward other people?s challenging or distressing situations,
leading you to infer that you simply have bad luck. But recognizing
yourself as a human angel can help you deal with the pain you see and
understand that you are there to help and comfort others during their
times of need. Human angels give of their inner light to all who need
it, coming into our lives and often changing us forever. Their task has
its challenges, but it is they that have the power to teach, bring us
joy, and comfort us in times of despair.

Cutting Cords
In every relationship, people are constantly exchanging energy that can
become a chord connecting two people. This energetic cord forms just
below the breastbone and can remain long after a relationship has
ended. This unbroken cord may leave an open channel between you and
another person, through which emotions and energy can continue to flow.
If you are unaware that the chord exists, it is easy to feel the other
person?s emotions and mistakenly think that they are yours. Besides the
fact that this can limit the amount of closure you can experience in a
relationship, letting this cord remain intact can leave you with a
continued sense of sadness while creating feelings of lethargy as your
own energy is sapped from you. Cutting the cord can help you separate
yourself from old baggage, unnecessary attachments, and release you
from connections that are no longer serving you.
Finding and cutting unwanted cords is a simple, gentle process that
is best done alone and when you are relaxed. It is important that you
are strong in your intention to release the chord between you and
someone else. To begin, breathe deeply and perform a simple centering
meditation. When you are ready, visualize or sense the chords that are
connecting you to other people. Run your fingers through the cords to
separate them until you find the cord you wish to sever. There is no
need to worry, because the chord you need to sever will feel just
right. When you have found it, determine where the cut should be made
and then visualize the cord being cleanly cut. If you need assistance,
Archangel Michael can be called upon to help you with his sword.
Afterwards, if you feel that cutting the chord has left spaces in your
energy field, then visualize those spaces being filled with healing
sunlight.
There may be times where cutting a cord can help free a relative or
loved one to reach new stages of growth. You?re not severing a
relationship, but you are severing the chords that are no longer
serving you both. At other times, a cord may simply refuse to be cut
because it is still serving a higher purpose. It is also important to
remember that cutting a cord with someone is not a replacement for
doing your emotional work with people. It can, however, be an enactment
of that work upon its completion. In any case, cutting a relationship
cord should always be viewed as a positive and nurturing act. By
cutting the cords that no longer need to be there, you are setting
yourself and others free from the ties that bind.

We have been going to the Trinway Mansion/ Prospect place for several years. It has become a warm, comforting place to hang out and relax. We have a spacious bedroom to nap in or just sit and talk and regroup. On this last trip it almost felt like they were glad to see us.
When we pulled up out front in June, waiting for Randy, we all felt a bit of oppressive heaviness and sadness. But after an hour or so, that lifted and we all breathed a sigh of relief.
We had a lot of personal experiences that night, weird occurrences witnessed by all of us. That's the charm of the house, you never know what you will get but you always get something!
We didn't get a lot of pix this time, mainly cause our best photographer, Brenda, couldn't be there. I had already decided to set up my Nightshot Sony video in the servants' quarters which is being renovated and looks great. Except they did cover uo the "blue haint" paint. At first the camera kept shutting itself off, but after I asked them not to do that and the spirits were acknowledged, all was fine. The Sony picked up thumps and bangs from those rooms as well as what sounded like a loud ticking off and on all night. I also caught an orb forming against the wall (adjacent to the sick room) under an antique chair that then moved out from under the seat and moved upward and disappeared.
Later, about 2am, team members standing in the yard outside the rooms heard sounds of laughter and crying, prob. female, coming from that area.
Everyone witnessed an extreme amount of doors opening and slamming throughout our visit. That was something new and it happened to different people and different doors 5 times. We had a few EVP's, one occurred when my daughter Emi was playing the piano around midnight. I guess they didn't care for her choice of music because after she played the last note someone said "please stop" on the digital recorder. It was really funny.
An EVP of a little boy was caught in the ballroom by Sandy and Mike. Through questioning by dowsing, he revealed that he didn't care for the adult male that was with him. Sandy felt that he was sitting in her lap at one point and infrared temp readings on her legs did range from 66.1 to 42.7 degrees. with ambient air temp at 82 degrees. When Sandy chastised the adult entity, she felt some pressure around her throat. Later on that night Emi was practising her dowsing skills and through questioning, determined she was talking with a 9 yo boy with blond hair and blue eyes that he was happy in the house. This occurred on the second floor.
The basement was creepy as usual and we all definitely not welcome there on this visit, so we obliged and didn't spend too much time there.
The barn was totally off limits due to the roof issues, but Mike and I were sranding in a large cold spot below the hay mowl. We were shivering a little on a hot, humid night.
My personal contact with spirit was in the bedroom we had for the evening. Early on we noted my Trifield natural EMF meter gave off some high readings as it was laying on my bed.
When I laid down to sleep around 3am, I distinctly heard a woman's voice speaking directly against my left ear which was against the pillow. It was a full long sentence and was either a foreign language or I didn't catch it because I was so surprised. I asked them not to do that again as I wanted to sleep. Around 4am I drifted off and suddenly heard a loud noise. I had turned off all the second floor lights and latched the inside of the door because a friend had told me about waking up to a female apparition in that room and I had hoped to see her myself. So when I heard that noise my first thought was if that was the door, I don't want to know. But then I had to go to the bathroom. I tried to fight it, but at 4:30 I turned on the bedside light and sure enough the door was open! Then I had to go out into the dark hallway and find that lamp and go clear down the hall into another room to get to the bathroom. It was a very fast trip, believe me.
We left around 7:30 the next morning already looking forward to our next visit. I told Randy I would sit alone in the basement in the dark because people have had some pretty heavy experiences doing that. But I will only do it if he's there in the kitchen at the light switch. I only hope I don't knock him over when I come up those stairs.

Don't cha just love Monday mornings? Get the kids up for school, look over all the stuff you have to do for the week, get an anonymous email from some person who doesn't know what they're talking about....
Read on, dear friends.
"So I just viewed your page and can say I am very displeased! I grew up
in this beautiful valley and I know the actually ghost hauntings! And
to have you people come in and lie your ass off about sightings, come
on it's called Photoshop! Now I know those beautiful trees and sun
shining when and where like the back of my hand!!!Do not bring your
lies to the to Egypt Valley you frauds that want to make a buck or
two. Let people come to this place to see if they see any of the
ghosts that exist for themselves not through your cheap ways!! So keep
on keeping on out of the Ohio Valley!!!"
Yes, we occasionally get these trolling responses and ignore them. But this one was a rib-tickler, so I just had to post it.. I would have nicely emailed them back, but our mail link does not show addresses to respond to. And of course they didn't include it when they wrote this.
"So I just viewed your page and can say I am very displeased!"
Well, that just ruined my whole week.
"I grew up
in this beautiful valley and I know the actually ghost hauntings! Now I know those beautiful trees and sun
shining when and where like the back of my hand!!!"
Then we have something in common. I lived there too. As did my grandparents, who had a dairy farm, and a good many of my cousins. But we had to move when they started strip mining and putting I-70 through back in the early 60's. How lucky you got to stay. Where exactly did you live? Maybe we were neighbors.
In fact we still fish and pick berries there.
Here's the best part...
"Do not bring your
lies to the to Egypt Valley you frauds that want to make a buck or
two. Let people come to this place to see if they see any of the
ghosts that exist for themselves not through your cheap ways!!"
Ok, you know the "actually" hauntings, but we're frauds. And we use Photoshop, which I don't even have and probably couldn't figure out if I did have it. But I could buy a copy I guess with all the money we've made.
* insert laugh track*
That really cracked me up. As all you know, meaning other paranormal investigators, we put hundreds even thousands of dollars into our "hobby" and never make a cent back. Thank God for Ebay. It's the only "cheap way" I have.
"So keep
on keeping on out of the Ohio Valley!!!"
Now do you mean the whole Ohio Valley or just the part with Egypt in it?
You all that ACTUALLY know us, realize how ludicrous this is. We provide our services to promote love, light and spiritual awareness. That is our path and we will continue to follow it. Even when we have to deal with opinions like this one. Of course you know what they say about opinions.
Have a nice day and next time sign your email message.

I love to read our guestbook. We get mostly positive feedback but occasionally we do recieve some constructive criticism. These people mean well, I'm sure, but I always wonder how much paranormal experience they have. Since experience is the best teacher in a science which is very far from exact, I hope that they don't base everything that they have learned on someone like TAPS, for example.
TAPS are excellent investigators and definitely lean towards the scientific. In fact they lean so far that way, they fall into it.
We use scientific method only for true investigations. I always get a chuckle when people point out that our pictures are dust, smoke, whatever. Yes, they may be. But if they are investigational they were taken in a controlled environment. They are also backed up with instrument readings. So with paranormal investigating being an inexact science, do we really know if they are a contaminated shot?
I don't know for sure.
Another thing I consider is that why no one ever notes our scientific report data, such as EMF fluctuations for example, or the EVPs? Or take into account the history of the location we are working in.
This is the biggest difference between ourselves and most other groups. Our motivation is to show/live our spirituality and how we apply that to our "hobby." We don't try to prove the existence of ghosts because I don't see that ever being accomplished. There is no way that everyone will ever believe in ghosts. We believe in spirit and we use our rods and crystals to communicate and assist them along with anyone they may be cohabitating with. We don't just do "ghost hunts" searching for that holy grail picture.
Another thing I'd like to mention is the idea of paranormal unity. This is a very big catch phrase in investigating these days. However again, that is something that will never truly exist because we are all human. That makes most of us liable to envy, back stabbing and fighting. I've seen people refusing to share information or locations because they were afraid that somebody else would get different or better results than they did. That's not very uniting, is it.
We do support Paranormal Respect however. We believe that everyone has the right to run their investigation as they choose. If you want to use a medium or dowsing rods to find a "hot spot" that's your choice. If you wish to try to communicate with a spirit using a pendulum, go for it.
We appreciate insights from people on our guestbook and they are entitled to their opinions because that is respectful. But we do reserve the right to agree to disagree.

Our group has been very busy during the past couple of months. We've had some private investigations. We were also featured in the Halloween Sunday edition of the Times Leader. Following that, I had our first internet interview on Trout Paranormal radio with my friends Tom Ventosi of MASSPARANORMAL and Patrick Donally of H.I.G.H Paranormal. We are in the process of editing our first in a series of books about our area and it's paranormal happenings. We are opening a shop in Hendrysburg. It will consist of "Brenda's Crafts" and the "Full Moon Magic Shop." We are also looking into starting some classes for future paranormal investigators.
We are planning trips to the Moundsville Pen and Prospect Place as well as Gettysburg.
We would like to take this opportunity to thanks everyone for their good wishes and support, as well as our families for their patience.
Sincerely,
~EVPI~

In life, most of us want things to go to the places we have envisioned
ourselves going. We have plans and visions, some of them divinely
inspired, that we want to see through to completion. We want to be
happy, successful, and healthy, all of which are perfectly natural and
perfectly human. So when life takes us to places we didn?t consciously
want to go, we often feel as if something has gone wrong, or we must
have made a mistake somewhere along the line, or any number of other
disheartening possibilities. This is just life?s way of taking us to a
place we need to go for reasons that go deeper than our own ability to
reason. These hard knocks and trials are designed to shed light on our
unconscious workings and deepen our experience of reality.
Often it takes something major to wake us up, to shake us loose from
our ego?s grip as it struggles to maintain an illusion of control. It
is loss of control more than anything else that humbles us and enables
us to see the big picture. It reminds us that the key to the universe
lies in what we do not know, and what we do know is a small fraction of
the great mystery in which we live. This awareness softens and lightens
us, as we release our resistance to what is. Another gift gleaned from
going to these seemingly undesirable places is that, in our response to
difficulty, we can see all the patterns and unresolved emotional
baggage that stand in the way of our unconditional joyfulness. Joy
exists within us independently of whether things go our way or not. And
when we don?t feel it, we can trust that we will find it if we are
willing to surrender to the situation, moving through it as we move
through our difficult feelings.
We can take our inspiration from any fairy tale that finds its
central character lost in a dark wood, frightened and alone. We know
that the journey through the wood provides its own kind of beauty and
richness. On the other side, we will emerge transformed, lighter and
brighter, braver and more confident for having moved through that
darkness.

Had an interesting experience at Salem Cemetery. Last October, me and another
member went down on a dreary Sunday afternoon just to get pics of
Louiza Fox's grave for our site. The whole energy in the valley that day
was electric.I pulled up into the driveway and as soon as we stopped, we
could hear a loud tap-tap-tap that sounded like 2 small tree branches
being struck together. It was in total rhythm like a drum and
continuous. So I picked up my aluminum ball bat & camera, and
Brenda got out her cell phone & pepper spray LOL . But she stood with one foot on
the ground and the other inside the Tracker while I walked towards the
sound. It seemed to becoming from the area close to where the church
had stood.
So I walk up the road about 100' and as I stepped on the grass,
the tap-tap-tap started to slowwww down, the closer I got to the bushy
area, the slower it became.
Then it stopped.
Then I stopped. And backed up. And jogged backwards.
Brenda yells "Get in the Tracker!" I yelled back "NO! I'm GETTING these pictures!!"
So
I ran down the fenceline and got 2 quick captures and then we heard
this yell, twice. Very loud and I cannot even describe it except I
thought to myself "I understand why they called them yowees." I have no
idea where that thought came from.
I wondered if we had come upon some ritual and was it real or residual?
We've been there many times throughout the years and we've been there since. But that was the only time I ever ran.
